Okinawan Karate can be learned by anyone regardless of their fitness level. Our beginner program is designed to acclimate you to training at a relaxed pace and focused on help you to improve your overall fitness levels. People of all ages and fitness levels join our program and begin their journey so come on in and be a part of our Karate family today! What if I have physical limitations or medical conditions? In our dojo you will see people from all walks of life and ages. Some young, some Seniors. Okinawan Karate is designed to be adapted around limitations for our older students and our instructors have many years of experience doing that for them. We do not teach a "one size fits all" approach at Franz Karate. Our professional instructors will work with you and develop your skills around your limitations to the best of our abilities. How hard will the training be on my body? Okinawan Karate is designed to build your fitness levels step by step, increasing your abilities as you travel along your martial arts journey. We do not place students in certain aspects of training until they have been properly prepared for that level. We guide you, train you and build your skill levels in the best manner possible. Is Karate training violent? Karate training in a good dojo is not competitive, not ego based nor violent. Our dojo culture is one of supportive, non-competitive and nurturing growth. You will not be beaten on nor will application training be destructive as we do not agree with that type of aggressive environment since Karate is meant to be for Self Defense...not proving who is the toughest in the class. Is Karate training just for Self Defense? Absolutely not. Through the study of Karate millions of people worldwide have come to love the immense benefits gained.
