Shugoro no Kata Gorin - Five Rings

Shugoro no Kata Gorin is a very special Kata for all of us in Shorinkan. It was developed by Shugoro Nakazato Hanshi, the founder of Shorin Ryu Shorinkan, for the 1996 Olympics. Nakazato Hanshi had many of the senior Masters in all forms of Okinawan Karate come and learn the Kata from him so they could all demonstrate it as a tribute to Okinawan Karate at a special demonstration during the 1996 Olympic games held in Atlanta, Georgia. Gorin no Kata is a tribute Kata drawing on various Kata in Shorin Ryu as well as some Kobudo Kata too.
